Celebration with elected officials and dignitaries, supporting launch of Bay Blue Block

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The Pinellas County Democratic Party and Bay Blue Block are honoring the exceptional public service of former U.S. Senator Bill Nelson at a special event that will also help to support Tampa Bay area Democrats.

WHAT: A special event to honor the exceptional public service of the U.S. Senator and his family – and to benefit the launch of Bay Blue Block. Event organizers want to show Senator Nelson how much constituents appreciate the time he spent serving Florida and the nation, while also helping Democrats across Tampa Bay prepare for 2020 elections.

WHO: A celebration with elected officials, dignitaries, colleagues, and other local leaders and friends of Senator Nelson and his family. Entertainment and speakers to include:

About Senator Nelson: Florida House of Representatives, U.S. House of Representatives, payload specialist on Space Shuttle Columbia, Florida Treasurer, and U.S. Senator. Senator Nelson was an effective advocate for same-sex marriage, lowering taxes on lower- and middle-income families, expansion of environmental regulations, the Affordable Care Act, and expanding Medicaid.
